Pizza Hut Is Selling Break-Up Pizzas For Valentine's Day

Pizza Hut believes everyone needs pizza takeaway after a breakup, even on Valentine's Day. A breakup starter kit may include a sad movie, a couch, and an oversize pizza. It's helpful but not curative.

A Pizza Hut press release told Mashed that the "Goodbye Pie." will debut on Valentine's Day. Sending a complimentary pizza to your ex can help you break up if you lack the courage to do it in person.

Pizza Hut got the idea from the fact that 45% of people prefer to break up before Valentine's Day, according to Mashed. Breakups are common on "Red Tuesday"—the Tuesday before Valentine's Day.

Goodbye Pie deliveries include a limited-edition pizza with chile-infused hot honey and curled pepperonis in a box with the break-upper's name. It surprises in many ways.

Not everyone who breaks up gets free Hot Honey "Goodbye Pies." From February 6 to February 14, GoodbyePies.com will accept free pizza requests for those who want to give one to their soon-to-be-ex.

NYC, Chicago, and Miami participate, but the rest of the country is included differently. The same website lets non-city residents request a Pizza Hut break-up text and Hot Honey pizza gift card for their future ex.

Pizza Hut did something opposite of break-up pizzas. Pizza Hut's odd Valentine's Day proposition may have escaped you: A $10,000 proposal package featuring a ring, limousine, and pizza was available to 10 people in 2012.

Even those not splitting up can taste the new spicy honey flavor on $11.99 pizzas or $5.99 chicken wings.
